Well, faith works the same way in my world too. People believe me being born with a crystal means I'm the child of angels and holy, and therefore I am. That's all.

I don't. The public and the church don't know it, but the entire system was set up by some monster with too much power. He did it to get a means to his own twisted ends.
The other Chosen One- there's two of us it's a long story, she believes there's still some goddess despite all that. That there's still a lot of good things about the teachings and good in the church. She's really incredible, everything you'd expect out of a Messiah.
But me? [a scoffing sound] I don't even believe in a goddess or god. Any religion built on the blood of another sounds like bullshit to me.
