[He could be a jerk and point out his own true viewpoint- that that knowledge could be a lie. The Goddess Martel was proven false, other religions in Earth's history have been written off- Christianity could easily be so too. A dark part of him almost wanted it to be, religions being based on a sacrifice made him sick inside.]
[But Zelos, despite all his bitter feelings? Really isn't out to break or insult other people's faith. It's why he smile and lied with Aster, and why he bites his tongue on those thoughts too]
Well, faith works the same way in my world too. People believe me being born with a crystal means I'm the child of angels and holy, and therefore I am. That's all.
I mean, I could give you more concrete evidence if we were on Tethe'alla- scriptures and words of the church. But...I don't really have that stuff right now, sorry.
It sounds like Kaneis's world is really crazy about these crystals, though. Allen was (allegedly) born with a holy weapon, after all - that Kaneis was born with a holy crystal is easy to accept. The child of angels, though?
Just believing someone is divine doesn't mean they are.]
[Shut up you're just denying because his power doesn't give you more food. Don't think we noticed that's the jesus miracle you remembered]
[And there's an actual surprised pause at Zelos's end, as he's taken aback. He knows the answer, but it's a new question for him. He doesn't like answering impulsively- and therefore, stall.]
...Not sure I can answer that question without pissing someone off.
[He eyes the tablet with some skepticism, like he doesn't quite believe Allen about that statement]
Alright...
[Jeez, how to even say it? A sigh]
I don't. The public and the church don't know it, but the entire system was set up by some monster with too much power. He did it to get a means to his own twisted ends.
The other Chosen One- there's two of us it's a long story, she believes there's still some goddess despite all that. That there's still a lot of good things about the teachings and good in the church. She's really incredible, everything you'd expect out of a Messiah.
But me? [a scoffing sound] I don't even believe in a goddess or god. Any religion built on the blood of another sounds like bullshit to me.
[It's kind of a relief that Kaneis doesn't buy into the whole thing (at least his roommate doesn't actually think he's some holy being...) That the religion was a sham set up by a monster, though, that's not encouraging at all.
...And he knows what that last bit was a dig at, but Allen isn't about to argue it with him.]
I'm sorry that it was like that.
But I'm glad she's able to find hope in it, still. Even if there isn't a goddess, if there really is good in the church's teachings, I think that's important.

still doesn't sound like Jesus to Allen.

Do you believe it?

Huh. He can make a guess, what an answer like might mean, but still.]
You're only talking to me. I won't get pissed off.
[Seriously, you've already blasphemed all over this conversation.]

Alright...

[Though he sure makes a slight face on his end] Somehow, I don't think it was your fault.
Yeah...I guess that's true. [a sigh] Don't worry, I'm not going to go out and crush anyone's belief systems just because of my own feelings.
Voice;
Mm, I don't think you should try. [Crushing belief systems would be pretty douchebaggy, probably.
Not that he thinks Kaneis would be able to with anyone outside of his own world, anyway.]
Voice;
[CHALLENGE ACCEPTED- oh wait no bad] Of course not. People need to believe in something, after all.
Voice;
They do. Whether it's in God, or something more mundane.
Voice;
[Oh god this is all too sincere, he feels awkward. he has to snark, he just HAS TO]
Like...believing you'll always find another person to cook for you somehow.
[Okay kind of weak on the snark, but it's enough so he feels like he can breath again whew]
Voice;
I'm not worried about that at all!
[He's got one stalking him right now, in fact.]
Voice;
But what if Cheria and I get sent on a really long mission? Like a month long one.
Voice;
Voice;
Now that's just insulting!
Voice;

...But I'd still find a replacement.

[Yep...probably being an over-dramatic shit on purpose at this point]
Voice;
[He doesn't pay you guys.]
Voice;
Hm, yeah- I guess you don't pay us. Now what's that term again when you do that stuff for free....?
Voice;
Voice;
I thought that might do the trick.
